Starbucks mobile order + graham creme frapp

So the very first time I tried the Starbucks mobile order, I ordered the wrong drink, and I didn’t realize it until a few weeks later. It wasn’t my fault though, because at that time all of the drinks weren’t on the menu (they didn’t even have a caramel frapp– which is my go to drink when I don’t like the seasonal drinks). I decided to try the graham frapp for the first time, but I didn’t realize that there’s a ‘creme’ version of every drink. I believe the creme version adds a lot of milk and not as much of the coffee or flavoring. So when I get my drink, it’s a whitish color. I know right then it’s not going to be good.

It literally tasted like milk with vanilla, sugar, and cinnamon. It wasn’t nasty, but as someone that doesn’t care for milk, it was too milky for me. When I spoke to my fellow Starbucks junkie coworker she said the same thing.
Starbucks mobile ordering:

The main thing with ordering from Starbucks, is that you have to have a giftcard to pay for it. You also need the Starbucks app. I’ve had the Starbucks gift card for a few years (I got one when they had a promotion- if you registered a giftcard, they gave you $5; they do that every so often) I actually have a gold card that has my name on it.

The actual card has my full name on it

You click on the upper right corner where it says order

1 more 🌟 before I get my free drink 😁

If you’re like me, and you have a bunch of drinks in the recents than you can click that & order it. Otherwise you can browse the menu.

Find the drink you want (or food apparently). I clicked on frappucinos because that’s basically all I get (unless my throat hurts, then I get the tea)

As you can see, tiramisu isn’t available. 😓

Various frapp flavors

You can edit any drink you get. There’s a bunch of different options to choose from.

I’ve noticed with this a fully customized drink is more than one that isn’t (duh). For example, in the red velvet drink they have, they have java chips, which I don’t particularly care for. So I attempted to order that drink the way it is on the secret menu. (white mocha, w/ mocha & raspberry syrup) and I think it charged me $.25-$.50 more. So I changed the amount of java chips from 3 to 1 & prayed for the best. I did change the drink a little bedside the app just has mocha and raspberry syrup– which would taste like chocolate covered raspberries.

I chose to show the options with eggnog frap because that is going to be my drink until Jan. I ❤️ eggnog.

Once you get your order together it will show you your total. You pay with your giftcard and it will tell you how much time you have before it will be ready. My store usually gives a 4-9 minute time frame. I think when we place an order the sticker comes out, and they put it in the line with the rest of the drinks. So now I don’t have to wait 30 minutes to order a drink now. Woohoo! 🎉🎉 if I order something like tea, I’ll order it as I’m walking there. It will be ready when I get there, since it takes two seconds to make tea.

I’ve done mobile ordering with Starbucks at least 7 times and only once have I had an issue. The Starbucks that’s close to my job is ALWAYS packed- something I’ve mentioned before. So with this mobile order thing I save a lot of time. One day, I think my second time using mobile order, I kept thinking someone is probably going to take my drink. I don’t know why I had that thought. I waited 5 minutes after I ordered, like I always do. When I get to Starbucks, my drink isn’t there. 😒 I waited 5 minutes, just in case…. Finally I ask the barista if they made my drink. Someone took it while I was walk big there. The problem with mobile order, is that they put the drinks on the counter where people are waiting for their drinks. So if you felt like being a shady individual, you could just take someone’s drink if they’re not there. Which is what that person did. In order to get a drink, I had to show my receipt (aka my phone. Thankfully I brought it with me) and I had to wait for my drink to be made. 😒

Going based on the baristas reaction, that has happened a few times.

One of the flaws I see with mobile ordering, is that you can’t use a reward if you have one.

Starbucks Eggnog frapp + houndstooth

So my favorite drink is back at Starbucks: eggnog frapp.

I love eggnog.

I got this alert on my phone about the new fall drinks coming out. And I got worried because I didn’t see eggnog on there. 😩

It’s crazy how I’m always up after 1am

But it’s on the mobile app. This is actually the second year they’ve had the eggnog flavor. Last year I watched them when they made the drink. And unlike other drinks, this one doesn’t have any syrup. They actually add eggnog to the coffee/milk/ice mixture. I don’t remember they brand eggnog that they used, but I haven’t seen it before. It came in a white squarish container with green writing. I’m sure it’s sold at like Trader Joes or Wholefoods.  I didn’t watch as my drink was made this time because my coworker asked me to order a drink for them. 😒 Thankfully there was only three people on line, so I didn’t have to wait at all.

While I’m talking about things I love at Starbucks… I bought this. 😍

$17. I only found one in a target Starbucks, so I only have one. I really want 4. It’s currently in my car. I’m scared if I bring it into the house it’s going to get broken. A gust of wind is going to make it fall off the counter or something. It’s ceramic. If the cup dropped and broke I’d be highly upset. $17 is a lot to pay for a cup.
There were some mystery boxes at Starbucks… At first I thought it was going to be some sort of free gift for patrons (and it’s possible that it is), but it has the link to the store at the bottom of the box. Whatever it is, is going to be available 11/10

Starbucks White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Frapp

I had one last free drink at Starbucks, so I decided to get the WCMN (I’m abbreviating because I’m lazy). This was the drink I’d debated getting when I first tried CTC frapp. Both drinks are similar, white mocha with a ‘nut’ syrup. Since this was my last free drink, I got the Venti. If I have a free drink I get the biggest size, since I’m not paying for it.

The ingredients for the WCMN frapp are:

  • White mocha frapp
  • toffee nut syrup
  • java chips
  • caramel drizzle

Looking at the ingredients, I just realized I didn’t ask for the java chips. I think that would have been an interesting addition. Oh well. I also didn’t ask for the caramel drizzle, because whenever I have WCMN cookies, I don’t taste caramel, so it didn’t strike me as something to add to it. I should have, because when I got the drink, it wasn’t that sweet. It was good though, good enough that I actually drank the whole thing. If I get the drink again, I’ll definitely get the caramel drizzle, and maybe the java chips.

Starbucks Mocha Coconut frapp

I took a wrong turn when I was going to walmart, and it ended up at Target. Since I didn’t actually need anything from target, I went yo the Starbucks. After waiting for 5 minutes for the guy that apparently decided he was going to go home, I asked the barista if they had the mocha coconut flavor in. And she said they did.*

so I got it. And I’ll say, I’m not impressed.

I can’t put my finger on what it is, but it tastes different than it did two years ago when it was summer drink. I’ll put it like this, 7 hours later I still have a frapp in a cup that’s about half full. That NEVER happens.

When I took my first sip, I thought the barista put too much coconut in it, but after that first sip I could barely taste it. When I finally made it to walmart I took a sip before I got out of the car and I could taste a hint of the coconut. I was at the Starbucks closest to my job the other day*, and they mentioned that there was a special mocha used to make this drink, so I’m wondering if that’s what it is? It’s almost like the drink leaves a weird taste in my mouth, the way fake sugar does (Splenda, sweet n low, anything with aspartame in it). But I really can.’t pinpoint if it’s from the syrup or the mocha that’s ‘annoying’ me.

For the record the mocha coconut was my favorite drink from Starbucks. Hands down. And this is coming from someone that doesn’t like chocolate (unless it’s cakes or brownies) nor coconut (I just like the scent). I may possibly try this again because years ago it.was.so.good

*so the other day I went to the Starbucks by my job to get this drink. And I left pissed because I walked out empty handed after being in the store for literally 30 minutes. I was only planning on. Taking a 30 minute lunch break, but decided to go longer so I could go to Starbucks. Going to the Starbucks by my job is almost always a 30 minute thing- a reason my boss refuses to let me go there unless I’m off the clock. I currently work in an overly crowded outdoor mall, so when I walk into Starbucks it’s not uncommon to see a line that goes all the way to the door. I mean this is what you’ll see 90% of the time. There have been times in the past where the line was out the door.

Anyways of rom the time I walk in, to the time I get to the register, it’s 15 minutes. I pass the time by browsing the internet on my phone (using Starbucks wifi of course). I get to the register, and I’m like, ‘can I have a grande mocha coconut frapp no whip?’ There’s discussion amongst the workers because they don’t know how to ring it up, and they don’t actually know how to make it. This right here told me I should have ordered something else. But I didn’t. The girl ringing me up tells me they don’t have the correct mocha to  use for this drink, and they also don’t gave the coconut flakes that go on use top. Fine with me, I don’t like the flakes anyway. So I tell them to make the mocha frapp with coconut syrup. And I ask them a few times if they have the coconut syrup.  They say yes. They ring me up for the first for the correct drink, ‘grande mocha coconut’, then the guy takes it off, and rings it up as, ‘grande mocha + coconut! with a $.50 extra charge. That’s all it said, ‘coconut’. Every so often they charge for syrup, so I shrug it off. I pay with the $.75 on my gift card, and the rest on my debit card. 15 minutes later, my drink is done. As I always do, I taste it before I leave. It tasted off (not like today though). I take another sip, and then decide I’m going to get a refund. I go to the register, and there they tell me they don’t have the coconut syrup, and that they used coconut milk. 😡

i asked them THREE times if they had coconut syrup and they said yes! Butt get didn’t have it. They said they could remake my drink, but they’d be using coconut milk. I didn’t have the time, and didn’t want that. So I left. Empty handed and mad as hell.

i wrote an email to Starbucks and included my phone number in the letter so they could call me, and what do they do? Send me the generic email that try always send when you complain, and put $5 on my gift card. And then they said they would forward a copy of that email to the location I went to. Hopefully when they do that they bleep out my number, because in don’t want the employees contacting me, unless they’re a part of management.

Starbucks Cinnamon Toast Crunch frapp

As I’ve decided to try a few of the frappuccinos off of the Starbucks secret menu website, my second drink of choice was the cinnamon toast crunch frapp. It consists of:

  • a white mocha frapp with
  • cinnamon dolce syrup
  • hazelnut syrup

Thats it!

I figured since the ingredient list was so small, it wouldn’t taste like CTC. There’s no way. Hazelnut? I don’t think so. I was going back and forth between that and the white macadamia nut frapp. CTC won. Mainly because it was the one I was looking at when it was my time to order.

I made some sort of happy sound when I took the first sip. It really does taste like CTC. Like you know how when you are a kid (or hey, sometimes as an adult), and you drink the milk after you’re done eating the cereal? Well that’s what it tastes like. But BETTER. It’s cold and it’s sweet. Very sweet actually. “too sweet” as my coworker said. The main reason why I get frapps at Starbucks is because of the sweetness (and flavor). The frapps seem to be more flavorful than say, the lattes or macchiatos. Years ago, I’d get the caramel macchiato, with extra caramel. And I’d swear I couldn’t taste the caramel.

But here’s a secret, I’m not actually a coffee drinker. I hate coffee. I don’t drink it. It makes me have to pee, makes my heart race, and makes my body temp go up like 100 degrees. Plus it’s too strong. I really don’t see how people drink coffee. Iced coffee. Yuck.

Anyway. The CTC can come with the coffee base or without. The first time I had it I had it without coffee (and it tastes more like the cereal), but this time it had the coffee in it becuse I forgot to tell my friend not to get the coffee. It was still good.

Enough babbling, here’s a pic

Now, since I didn’t order this, and I wasn’t too specific, you can see there is whipped cream on top. That is not really something I get on my frapps unless I’m not at work. I mainly get Starbucks when I work.

This frapp is a brownish color, but if you order the drink without coffee (which I urge you to, to get the REAL taste) it’ll be lighter in color, like this:

The color is more of an off white.

What’s funny, is I was googling this drink to see if I could find images of the actual color, and I found this. Another girl named Renee drinking this marvelous drink. ☺️

Starbucks tiramisu frapp

Since the tiramisu frapp is no longer an option at Starbucks, I decided to try the tiramisu that’s on the Starbucks secret menu. I always get nervous when I try drinks from that menu.

Since I had a free drink, I got the venti, which is the largest frapp size. I wasn’t going to drink it all, so I planned on sharing *some* of it with a coworker.

This drink, from the secret menu site consists of:

  • a coffee frapp with
  • 1/2 pump hazelnut
  • 1/2 toffeenut
  • 1 pump caramel flan syrup
  • 1 pump mocha syrup
  • 1 espresso shot affogato (whatever that is).

And caramel drizzle, mocha & caramel flan sauce at the top.

Heaven in a plastic cup.

It was starting to melt a little by the time I got to take this pic.

Update: the drink was way too strong and not sweet with the espresso affogato shot, so I had the barista remake it. She took that out and added full pumps instead of half pumps. It was very sweet! Id be lying if I said I got frapps for anything other than the sweetness. Lol.

I’d shared the drink with my friend, who so nicely double dipped their spoon in the drink instead of poring it into a cup AND then proceeded to pour the spoon back into to the cup when I asked why she was double dipping. 😒

I’m not even going to talk about that because it’s going to make me mad.

Anyway, right after I finished drinking what I had, I felt weird. I can’t accurately explain it, but I’ll just say I was aware that my heart was beating. I won’t say my heart was racing, because it really wasn’t. I used to have tachycardia when I was younger and it was nothing like that. But I was just aware that my heart was beating (you know how you normally don’t feel it beating?) That feeling lasted for about 30-45 minutes.

I probably won’t be ordering that again.

But in wonderful news- the barista at the register (is barista the correct term?) told me that Starbucks is coming back out with mocha coconut. 🎉🎉🎉 I can’t wait. 😍😍 I’ve been dying for them to bring that drink back for 2 YEARS. But it’s normally a simmer drink, so I’m curious as to why they’d be bringing it back now, practically at the end of July.

If they bring back mocha coconut I swear I’m putting $50 on my Starbucks gift card. Okay maybe not $50. 😏
