Tutti Rouge Betty 30DD

I bought this back when Tutti Rouge had a sale- buy 5 items or more and get 55% off. I didn’t initially buy this bra for that sale, I’d bought 2 Liliana bras with matching panties, and another Liliana bra. Two of the Liliana bras didn’t fit at the time, so I sent them back for an exchange, they didn’t have replacements in smaller sizes, so I bought this and a Pearl bra. My main reason for buying this bra was because it looked like it fit similarly to the Tutti Rouge Frankie bra, which fit me at the time.

When I initially bought this bra, there was some room in the top of them cups, but at the time of me taking the pictures (October), I’d had some growth, so there wasn’t extra space. If I still had the bra today, there would definitely be some quadding. The sides of the cup come up kind of high, and have the potential to irritate. There did seem to be some space at the bottom of the cup, directly above the wire.

Even though this bra was lightly padded, I got a very pointed shape. A lot of Tutti Rouge bras are known to be wide and shallow, and this was definitely a wide one. The cups were 5.6 wide with a depth of 8.6 inches. The depth ratio 1:1.54, which means it’s slightly shallow to average.

The band is tts,  stretching to 30 inches. At the bottom of the bra, on the front, there is a ruffle. It’s cute, but wouldn’t be practical underneath a tight top.

The gore is 1.4 inches high, and about 1 inch wide. Although it was relatively low, I could tell it would have been painful to wear after a while.

The straps are wideset. Surprisingly they’re too wideset for me, which is something that doesn’t happen often. The straps are only partially adjustable. The sliders on the straps are hearts.

Tutti Rouge Pearl 30DD

I bought this back when Tutti Rouge had a sale- buy 5 items or more and get 55% off. I didn’t initially buy this bra for that sale, I’d bought 2 Liliana bras with matching panties, and another Liliana bra. Two of the Liliana bras didn’t fit at the time, so I sent them back for an exchange, they didn’t have replacements in smaller sizes, so I bought this and a Betty bra. My main reason for buying this bra was because it looked like it fit similarly to the Tutti Rouge Frankie bra, which fit me at the time.

When I initially bought this bra, there was some room in the top of them cups, but at the time of me taking the pictures (October), I’d had some growth, so there wasn’t any space, and there was some slight cutting in. If I still had the bra today, there would definitely be some quadding. A lot of Tutti Rouge bras are known to be wide and shallow, but this bra has a depth of 8 inches and a width of 5.25, which makes the depth ratio 1:1.52, which means it’s slightly shallow to average. There did seem to be some space at the bottom of the cup, directly above the wire. The sides of the cup come up kind of high, and have the potential to irritate.

The band is firm. At the bottom of the bra, on the front, there is a cute ruffle. Cute, but wouldn’t be practical underneath a tight top.

The gore is 2.5 inches high, and about .75 inches wide. It was sitting on tissue, and for the brief time I had the bra on, I could tell it would have been painful to wear after a while.

The straps are wideset. Surprisingly they’re too wideset for me, which is something that doesn’t happen often. You may not be able to see it in the pics but the straps have some rouching. The straps are partially adjustable. The sliders on the straps are hearts.

Nubian Skin Essential T-shirt bra 30DD Caramel

Color: Caramel (may possibly be Cinammon, I’m not 100% sure; The pics of me in the bra are the most accurate color)

The straps

The straps have the words ‘Nubian skin’ engraved in the material. The straps are stretchy, but not overly so. The straps don’t seem to be too far part in my opinion.

The cups/wires

The cups are lightly lined (I’d say it’s thinner than the VS lightly lined pink® Bras). The inner part of the cups is the same color as the outer part. The material is very soft.

The wires are slightly too wide for me at 5.5 inches (about .25 wider than what I can do, seems like a little bit, but it makes it too wide). The depth is only 7.5 inches, so this bra is too wide and too shallow. AKA, it doesn’t fit correctly. I did try to bend the wire on the right side, but that seemed to emphasize the lack of depth at the bottom of the wire. I have serious creasing on that side, it wasn’t so bad before I bent the wire. It’s odd, because I managed to decrease the width by .25 inches.

I’d consider the top of the wire to be high, but it doesn’t poke. The sides of the cup come up high (due to the high wire and the width of the cup), but oddly enough, it doesn’t rub. It also isn’t visible with the maxi dress I’m wearing today (neither are the straps). I do have some quadding, but it’s not visible through a top.

The gore

The gore is very low, coming in at 1 inch, but it is wide 1.75 inches, but since it is low, I don’t feel it. The gore does not tack at the top, like at all. Aside from the fact that the cups are too small, it may also be because the wires don’t go all the way to the top of the wire channel.

The band

<sigh> The band is ridiculously small. It measures 21.8 inches unstretched, and only about 26.5 inches stretched. 😳 My BTT is about 26.5, so without an extender the band feels too tight. With an extender, I need to have it all the way on the loosest setting. Wearing it with 3 extra hooks is comfortable, but I could probably also be okay with a fourth hook (I however will not be wearing this with 2 extenders). I accidentally hooked this on the middle hook today, and I was feeling it (bottom of wires were digging in my ribcage). Also worth mentioning, the band has 3 sets of hook and eye closures. This is very rare for this size. The only other bras I’ve come across in this size with 3 columns is a Godard strapless bra, and the Claudette longline. The hook & eye closure fits perfectly with the extender I bought.

Thoughts:

Before I bought this bra, is as told that the band runs small. I obviously chose to ignore that.  I didn’t do it purposely. I was browsing eBay one day for “brown bras 30DD” (I omit unnecessary words when searching on eBay), and this bra popped up, so I bid on it (via gixen- I like to wait for the last minute when bidding). I’m glad I got a chance to try it, but I’ll definitely be looking for a bigger size. If you’re interested in trying this style of bra, make sure you sister size up at least 1, possibly 2.

Although this bra technically doesn’t fit me, it is surprisingly very comfortable. It is like a comfortable version of a VS bra. Comfort is a big thing for me, so I’ve worn this bra quite a few times.

This color is obviously not my skintone, but it definitely works as a nude under light colored clothing.

You can buy the bra directly from the website. Nubian Skin carry sizes 30B-40DD (matrix sizes)

Tutti Rouge Liliana 30DD

This is going to be a short one. As you will see the bra doesn’t really fit.

Color: Sunshine yellow

The bra:

Big pink bow at the top of the gore

Small bow where the cup and straps meet

The only seam on the cup is the one that attaches the lace to the bottom of the cup

The lacing at the top reminds me of Curvy Kate bras, but the material is very stretchy.

Tutti Rouge signature heart shaped slider

The fit:

From the front it looks like the bra fits okay:

The cup is too wide and shallow for me

Issues:

  • the sides come up too high
  • the band is not level
  • the wire is too wide

There are certain things I can live with when it comes to bras, but a too wide cup that irritates my side is not one of them. So I returned the bra, in exchange for a 30D. I know that one may not fit either, but if I bend the wire I think it may help. And hopefully the band will be somewhat smaller (even though it’s the same size). This bra is definitely for someone that’s wide and shallow. I recall reading that it was advised to size up. But if I did that it would be horrible on me; the wire would be halfway around my back!

In the past, I’ve come to realize that when I buy half padded bras (or semi soft as they’re sometimes called), I need to size down. The top portion is alsmost always too open for me. This bra seems to be the exception, but I feel I still need to size down.

Color: neon green-yellow

The bra:

Molded cup

There is a cute pink bow in the center, at the gore.

Pretty pink lace at the top

There is no bow where the cup and the strap meet.

The flamingo design goes all the way around the band.

The fit:

Right (larger) side

Left (smaller) side

With a cami on

Marks left by the wires:

The wire is in my imf.

I wore this bra no less than 5 times. I like it a lot. And as you can see, it actually fits. Technically it shouldn’t because it’s a good bra for shallow breasts, and people say my breasts aren’t shallow.

I took this pic after the last time I wore it, so you can see there is no creasing at the bottom of the cup.

I don’t recall having any issues when wearing this bra, except for the very last time. That particular day, the bottom of the wire was pushing in my skin.

This looks and fits a whole lot better than the 30E. I do think that technically it would be considered too small because the lace lies flat for the most part.

I liked this bra so much, that I bought a Juna in 30DD.

Panache Jasmine 30dd (blue)

Color: watercolor

The bra:

The lining of the bra is a blue fabric

There are 4 parts to this cup.

Dark blue bow at the gore.

There is no bow where the cups & straps meet.

The lace

The watercolor design doesn’t go all the way around the band.

The review:

Left/smaller side

Right/bigger side

There is some space at the lace in the smaller breast, but none in the bigger breast.

The back

With thy my shirt on. I think the bra gives a nice natural shape

I felt like the wires were too wide, especially on my right/bigger side. (This is something I initially thought about my houndstooth jasmine bra– but later changed my mind). I think I gave this ‘issue’ with some bras, where it seems like there’s room between my breast and the wire, but in actuality there is not.

The gore is sitting on breast tissue & kind of high. The marks from the wires don’t look like the bra is too wide.

I made the mistake of wearing this bra today (3/28), as its one of my long days at work. Normally on my longs days I try to wear a bra that I know will be comfortable, because I don’t want to be uncomfortable 5 hours into a 10 hour shift. But this was the first bra that I picked up, so I wore it. Around 4pm, the bottom of the wire was digging into my left breast. By the tine I got home, I wanted to rip the bra off.

I love my Jasmine bras, but they’re not the most comfortable to wear. The main reason bring the poking gore. I have not yet tried to bend the gore on any of my Jasmine bras.

Freya Crush 30DD

Color: Orchid

The Bra:

It has very colorful–filled with pinks, peach, greens, blues and reds, and perfect for summer.

There is a dark green sticthing that separates the top of the cup from the lace. This one thing would probably make this not good for FOT shapes.

There is a pastel green bow at the gore

As well as where the cup and strap meets

The upper portion of the straps are thick. The straps are technically partially adjustable. But I was able to go above the thicker part.

The floral design goes all the way around the band.

The fit:

Left side

Right side

As you can see the upper lace portion does not lay flat.

From rom the front with a shirt on

The review:

There is a little bit of room in the cups, but not enough that I could size down comfortably. I think if I did size down (28DD) the green stitching below the lace would cut in.

Initially I thought the 30 band was okay, because it doesn’t feel big or overly stretchy, but I think a 28 band would be a lot better. The band doesn’t ride up (from the back pic), but it looks like it is from the side pics. I may possibly (in the future) permanently shorten the band (by taking it in at the hook and eye closure).

I wore this bra all day today (I also wore it 2 other days), and I don’t see or feel any issues. The lace not lying flat does bother me somewhat, but that can be fixed with a simple stitch (of the lace) at the gore.

Tuttie Rouge Frankie 30dd

Color: cornflower

The bra:

Closeup of the cups

Theres a white with silver polka dot bow at the top of the gore.

There are no bows where the straps and the cups meet.

The straps are very stretchy

The strap adjusters are cute little hearts.

Cute little frilly lace at the bottom of the cups

The signature ‘Tutti Rouge’ on the back of the band

The review:

The straps on this are very wide set. This is how it looks when I out the bra on with the straps as they were supposed to be.

As you can see they’re sitting on the ends of my clavicles. And the straps are literally in front of my armpits.

This is how I wore them; the straps are at an angle.

From the right

From the left

The sides of the cup come very high.

While the bra doesn’t look like it’s big, it is

I didn’t know if the band was stretched out since I bought this second hand, but it is pretty big (not Claudette big though.).

The band. I have the straps adjusted as short as they will go. The band doesn’t seem to be riding up.

Consensus: This bra is very cute, but I would like to try it in a 28e.

I wore it to work yesterday and these are the issues I have with this bra:

the band is too big

the straps don’t adjust long enough

the straps are very far apart.

the gore is high. Initially I didn’t have an issue with the gore, but after a few hours (I’d say at least 5) it started to bother me. It wasn’t as painful as some gores, but I knew today, I wouldn’t be able to wear a regular bra comfortably.

The sides of the cup come up very high. Initially it wasn’t too much of an issue, but by 7pm, I was ready to rip the bra off. (I actually went to target braless- but I wore a heavy sweater.

I do want to note that I’ve read that this bra runs wide, and I will say for me, it didn’t seem to be wide; At the width being 5.25″, it’s not exceptionally wide, it’s .25 wider than my yellow Marcie. I believe the extra width comes from the wires being longer.

Also, with the frilly lace at the bottom. It makes it look like the gore isn’t tacking all the way, but it is.

Panache Jasmine 30dd *houndstooth*

*Be forewarned, this will be a long post with a lot of pictures, as at some point this bra went from being a little loose to fitting perfectly.*

Color: pink & black houndstooth

The bra:

The inner part of the bra is lined with a black fabric

There is a slim black bow at the gore (closeup)

but no no bows where the cups and the straps meet

There are 4 parts to the cup, the part that is attached to the strap, the upper lace part, an inner panel, and a middle panel.

The lace portion is very stretchy

The houndstooth print does not go all the way around the bra, the back portion is black.

The straps are nice and thin with a picot trim around the edges.

The review:

This bra is just 😍

I prefer black & white houndstooth or pink & white houndstooth, but this is cute too.

You can see some of the space in the cups:

Wrinkling on the side of the smaller cup

The marks on my skin from the wires. As you can see the very top corners of the gore are sitting on breast tissue.

Photos of me in various tops

I wore this all day for my birthday. And it was largely okay fitting most of the day.  There were a few areas of poking mainly at the gore. Also I think the side of the bra on the right is a little too far back

Update from 2/2016

For a while I couldn’t find this bra. When I finally found it, I wore it, and noticed it actually fit. I’m not sure if you can see the difference in fit, but I get a rounder appearance now than I did before.

There is no wrinkling on the cups.

The back

This bra is like 90% perfect. It’s only after wearing the bra for a few hours that I start to feel pressure from the gore. Once I start to feel it, it doesn’t go away until I take the bra off. But I think just about every bra I own has a stabby gore.

I like that the upper lace portion is very stretchy, and it allows for upper fullness, and accommodates for difference in sizing. There’s nothing restrictive about it at all.

I want to note that when I wore the bra in February, I didn’t notice the wires being too wide on either side.

I actually have a few pairs, in a shopping cart that I may buy soon, just to have a few different colors.

Cleo Marcie 30dd yellow

Color: yellow

The bra:

It is a beautiful summer yellow.

There are the signature embroidered dots throughout the bra.

There is a fucshia bow at the gore with a button in the middle

Unlike most unlined bras, this does not have any bows where the cup and the straps meet

Embroidery on the lace

I didn’t realize until I was taking pictures that there’s little bows embroidered on the top of the cup

The straps

The review:

I love absolutely everything about this bra.

The side profile I so round. But that is something Cleo bras are known for. There is literally no flaws in this bra. No stabby gores, no space in the fabric. NOTHING.

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t shocked when I first put this bra on. How could a bra that us for FOT, fit me? Someone that is FOB? Wearing this bra (as well as Panache Jasmin) made me realize that I am most likely even, with tall roots, so I function as FOT. Or more correctly, {some} FOT bras work with my shape.

Here are some pics I took from when I first got the bra (excuse the color)

So I got this bra as an exchange from a bratabase member. She contacted me and asked if I was willing to trade my new CK Princess bra (which I am one realizing I never reviewed  ) in 30dd for this bra> Cleo Marcie 30dd. I wasn’t too sure at first because at the time I preferred to wear 28e, as that was the size that mainly fit me (I know 28e and 30dd are sister sizes, but the tightness of the band in 28s seem to make the bras fit better). But then I realized the curvy Kate didn’t fit me anyway, so I said yes to the exchange. And I’m so glad I did!
