Ewa Michalak Różowa Mgiełka 70DD + matching brief size 36

I bought this bra on a whim. I bought it along with the Amorek, because I’d wanted to try Ewa’s unlined bras. I’d already owned the 3DM Burek, but I bought it used. I wanted to try a 3DM that wasn’t used. I also had two BMs, but the 3DM is meant for smaller breasts (lower gore, shorter cups), so I needed more. Although I’m not interested in the Kankan, it is a bra I’ve debated about buying, just because it’s a 3DM. I will say I’m not in love with this bra, or the Amorek because of the cups material. This is why I haven’t asked for most of the SM bras (Rozmarzona, Ja wiem etc) to be made as a 3DM. The Ja Wiem looks like it’s exactly the same material is this bra. Let’s check out how this bra fits:

The cups on this bra are nice and low. I was able to wear it underneath one of my low cut v neck shirts that I got from working at true religion (their v necks are ridiculously low), without the bra showing. When I got the bra, around Christmas Eve the cups were okay. Now they’re a little too small.

This picture has the most accurate color of the bra.

The diagonal ribbon cuts in a bit, but it’s masked by the upper ribbon piece. As much as I love the appearance of this bra, I don’t think the material choice was the best. When I first ordered this bra, I was sent a bra that was too shallow. It was not a good fit on me.

The left cup (my smaller side) seemed the worst.

The first bra was probably cut best for even/shallow shapes. I think that bra was cut the same way it would have been cut if it was a stretchy material. I sent Ewa pictures and she remade the bra for me.  The material on the cups is an unstretchy mesh, but it’s not delicate feeling.

When I initially tried this bra on, I didn’t have an issues with the gore, but that’s to be expected. The gore height is 1.75 inches high, and a little over half an inch wide (.6 inches), so in theory I shouldn’t have had an issue. .6 is really narrow. Most of the morning I was fine, but around lunch time I started feeling the gore. It wasn’t painful, but I could feel it. By 5pm I was DYING. I was at my parents house, so I took my bra off. Unfortunately I didn’t get any bras in the mail, so I was walking around braless.

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know I RARELY have straps issues. I don’t have a strap issue with this bra per-se, but I can definitely say the straps are wide-set. Definitely not a bra for women with narrow shoulders. I didn’t feel the straps when I was at work, but you can definitely see that they’re directly on top of my clavicle. Because of the detailing on the straps they’re partially adjustable. The lacing on the front of the straps is the same as the lace at the top of the cups

The band stretches to 28 inches. 28 inches is small for a 70 band, but I’m starting to think Ewa’s 70 band (at least in the bras meant for smaller busts) will measure around 28 inches. The wings are nice and wide, measuring at 3.75 inches high. The band is a different material from the cups. It’s a stretchy polyester, that would have been really nice on the cups. The wings and the band are double lined.

Panty

I absolutely love the appearance of these panties. However, I don’t love the fit. Right off the bat, I want to say when I was wearing them with jeans on I had no issues, and I really didn’t feel anything.  But when I wasn’t wearing bottoms I felt a lot. Due to the material in the lower portion of the back, it felt like the panties were too small, so this may work better for someone with a smaller butt. But the front felt like there was too much fabric. The gusset was wide. I don’t really have gusset issues with panties, but this pair and the Amorek panties I do (they’re cut the same). The wideness occurs with the gusset and the front of the panties. The front of the panties is cut wide, so the elastic is in the crease of my groin (is there a technical term for that?). When I had no pants on, I could feel the elastic everytime I took a step.

Verdict: I would not wear this during one of my long work shifts

Love Claudette Dessous longline 30E + matching thong

I’ve wanted this bra, in this color, ever since I got the other Dessous longline. When I bought the other longline, I could not find this color at all. So I gave up looking. Around Black Friday I came across this branon brastop. It was on sale for like £13, but I didn’t buy it because I was hoping it would be cheaper on Cyber Monday. Well, I was wrong, on cyber Monday the price went to £17, and stayed that price until March (😭). I would check brastop often to see if the price went back down, also to see if this size sold out because it was the only 30E left. I really wanted 28F, but it wasn’t available. I ended up buying this when it went to £16, but I only bought it because I tweeted to brastop that I wanted to add something to my order, but I couldn’t find that bra (I didn’t look hard enough because I ended up finding it 2 days later). I didn’t want them to hold my order for nothing, so I asked for this and the matching panties.

I’m happy that I was able to finally get this set.

The gore was too wide for me. The gore measures a hair under 1 inch wide- 7/8s of an inch.

However, because it’s so high, it was sitting on breast tissue. I was able to push the wires down the channels at the gore, so there wasn’t any stabbing; pushing down the wires I was able to get 1/2 an inch of free space. The gore just got wider the further it went down, so the inner portion of the wires were sitting on breast tissue. It wasn’t painful, but just annoying because I was aware that the wires and the gore were raised.

I decided to alter the gore, otherwise the bras wasn’t really wearable. As I’ve said before, when I alter things these days, I don’t have a desire to be 100% accurate (nothing is getting cut), so I just pinned the fabric at the gore in place, and hand sewed to make the gore less wide. If you decide to too this to this particular bra, be forewarned that the material is mesh and this alteration will mess up the material if you make it too tight, or if your breasts are heavy and close set. I decided when I altered this, that I was going to sew and leave the extra fabric on the outside, instead of sewing it on the inner part of the bra. I like the way it looks, and tbh no one else is going to be looking at my bras.

One of the things I absolutely love about this bra, and the other Dessous longline that I have is that there is depth to this bra that the regular Dessous bras don’t seem to have. Initially I thought the depth was above the wire, but it’s really just in the lower portion of the cup. There is wrinkling in the fabric, but I think that’s because how wide {the entire length of} the gore is. My nipples are in the upper portion of the bra, so I’m getting a bit of in cup quadding. I do a reverse swoop and scoop after putting the bra on. Before I altered the gore, the reverse swoop and scoop didn’t do anything at all. It couldn’t because there was no where for it to stay. The wires on the inner portion of the cup wasn’t touching my skin. Taking in the gore did seem to open the cup at the top a bit.

Walmart selfie

I rarely mention this on my bra reviews, but the seams wear only very slightly visible. I do want to mention that this bra is about 3/4s of an inch deeper than the peacoat Dessous longline that’s a sister size down (28F).

I think if you have narrow or sloping shoulders the straps will be too wide set for you, for me the straps are fine. The straps are fully adjustable. Although the straps look brighter/more neon in the pics, in person it’s the same color as the polka dots.

The band stretches to 28 inches before the wires start to distort. Stretched the band feels comfortable. The closure is 3×3, and it’s actually easy to button up from the back (I usually find the 5 row longlines to be a struggle to close behind my back, or som unhook when I get others hooked)

The longline is pretty short on this bra. There’s about 1 inch of extra fabric underneath the cups. There is 2 small bones, and the top of them keep ending up below the cups (but I don’t feel it), because there’s a space, the bone isn’t as long as the channel. Realistically speaking, the space is like 3 mm at the most.

Thong

These are unremarkable. They fit. There was a small amount of extra fabric in the front, but not enough that I would size down. The elastic wasn’t bothersome. They were comfortable.

verdict: This is a bra that I’d wear on one of my longer days at work. It was actually very comfortable.

Do you own any of the Claudette Dessous longline bras?

Lepel Roxy longline bra size 30E + brief size 8

I came across this bra one day when Abracabra posted herself in it on Instagram. Up until this point, I’d never really looked at Lepel as a brand. It just wasn’t on my radar. When I saw it, I wanted it- it’s a longline, and its floral, what’s not to like?

I searched online for reviews, but couldn’t find any. This bras wasn’t even listed on bratabase! So naturally I had no idea how it fit. I asked Abracabra what the depth was on her bra (32DD), and she said 21,5cm (8.5 inches), with the width being 13cm (5.1 inches), which works for me. The bra looked like it would work for me, so I ordered the 30E.

The cups on this bra appear to be ‘cut and sew’ with seams, but in actuality the inner part of the bra is molded/contoured, and the outer part (the floral fabric) is seamed. I didn’t know that before I bought it, but it probably wouldn’t have made a difference. There does seem to be enough depth at the wire.

This is considered a longline, and I guess it is, in theory. The back and sides are longer than a regular bra, as is the gore, but underneath there’s a little fabric, and some lace. The wing is 4.5 inches high, and there’s 4 rows of hooks. The band only stretches to about 28 inches, and that’s doing a hard stretch.

The lace flipped up

The lace flips up at the slightest movement! The time it took for me to go from my living room to my balcony (~10 steps), the lace had flipped over (as you can see in some of the pics). There is boning on the side of the cups, I guess to keep the rest of the band from flipping up? The very bottom of the boning presses into my skin- so this is not a bra I would wear on one of my longer days at work.

I would consider the straps to be wideset. As I’m sitting down on the couch, everything feels fine, but when I move my arms forward, the front of my shoulders/armpits get rubbed a bit- another thing that would prevent me from wearing this bra to work.

Right above the bow, to where the cup starts is where I have irritation, when my arms are in this position

The gore is high, and sitting on tissue, but luckily it’s not painful. There is a bubble of space in the fabric at the middle of the gore.

The wires encompass my breasts completely.

The panties

Okay, obviously I didn’t pay attention when I bought these, because I thought they were regular low cut briefs, but they’re actually ‘hipster shorts’. I don’t really like underwear that are cut like mini shorts, I like more of a Brazilian brief, where there’s less coverage. The elastic on the leg openings feels a little tight. The side panels on the panties are the same sheer black fabric that’s on the sides of the bra. There is a small piece of elastic at the bottom of the shorts in the middle. If it looks like I have a wedgie in the pic on the far right, that’s what you’re saying seeing.

Have you you heard of this bra before?

Backseam ‘Peach’ set Part 2

You can find the original set here.

So after the first set didn’t work out, I emailed Alena letting her know the top was too big, and that the bottoms were a little too big in the upper back area.

She emailed me back, with this picture and asked for measurements for 1, 2, 4, and 6. I emailed her back giving her those measurements, as well as the cup depth and width of my yellow Cleo Marcie (since it was my best fitting bra at the time). The bra and panty were sent out at no charge, since the original set didn’t fit.

When I received this set, I could see that it was different. I’ll get into that below.

The cups were definitely smaller. The cups were perfect. (But today when my breasts are apparently more FOT than normal, I’m getting some cutting in, not quite quadding.) The depth of the cups is ~7.75 inches. There is good depth at the wire. The sides of the cup come up high.

The wires are very soft and seem to stretch the cups when worn. So the width of the cup (5 inches) measures okay, but widens when stretched. There is some creaking when I press down on the wires.

The straps are a little thinner (.375 inches- .95 cm), and are attached with an O ring. The straps are wideset, but I think because they’re so thin, they don’t bother me. I haven’t actually worn this bra, but just from having it on right now, there’s no irritation whatsoever.

The closure on the band is darker than the bra (the original set had a closure that was an even match the the bra). The band is firm. The band stretches to 26.5 inches. The boning on the side of the band is a little pokey at the bottom.

This set came with the same bottom as the first set, and and extra bikini bottom.

High waist bottoms

These are definitely cut smaller than the original pair. They’re not too tight that they’re uncomfortable, however when I first put the, on I did hear the sound of thread popping. I only needed the back part to be taken in, but I don’t think I communicated that correctly to Alena. I love how the lower half looks on this piece. I think I’m too short &I don’t have enough definition in my waist to make high waisted anything to work. The top of these hit right where my waist goes in, but I don’t think they look right on me, because it’s right where my ribs are. If I were taller this would probably look better.

Low rise briefs

The briefs are really small. They cut in at the leg opening, and on my butt. I pulled the panties up for the pics, but they don’t really come that high, the top is barely above my butt crack. 😂 I won’t be wearing these because they aren’t comfortable.

I would defintely recommend buying from Alena if you’re looking to try a custom set from an indie company. It’s not cheap, but the materials make it worth the money, as does the labor, and the fact that she will try to make a set that works for you.
