Claudette Cool Cotton 30E

Color: American tan

About the bra:

It has a low scooped neckline. It’s supposed to be an everyday bra meant to be worn under t-shirts & tank tops.
American tan is a brown color.

It is actually light and airy, like it’s made of t-shirt material. There is a small button at the gore where the wires meet.

There is one vertical seam that goes down the center of the bra.

There is also some sort of side panel on the inner part of the bra, which is visible when worn. 😕

It really is a simple everyday bra.
The review:

Since the 30dd was too small (Review here), and I decided to order the pink dessous and the leopard dessous, I decided to add this bra as well. I didn’t think it would fit nicely. But the 30E, seems to fit nicely.  It’s cute, and comfortable- for the most part. I would love to try a 28E/F in this bra though.

so this is how the bra looks when I first put it on, no swooping and scooping. As you can see there’s a gapping where the strap and the cup meets. And that’s on use bigger side.

But that’s fixed when I swoop and scoop.

Side view. The wrinkling flattens out when I pull the band down.

You can slightly see the side panel. The vertical seam puckers a little bit, but there isn’t any space there.

With a cami:

I think in this pic below, you can see the size difference in my breasts. 😔

I don’t like that the vertical seam is visible. If you were to look quickly, it looks like my nipple.

In this pic it looks like you can see the outline of my areola.

Side view:

I think this is probably the only sift cup bra that gives me the best shape in clothing. If seems to be the closest to my old VS molded bras. I gave t actually wore this bra yet, but I may tomorrow. The only possible issue I see, is that the side of the cup comes up a little high, and irritates my bigger breast. But it doesn’t irritate my smaller breast. It may go away if I lengthen the strap. As of right now I have the straps at the shortest setting (which is how I received the bra). The vertical seam bothers me as well

Freya Ignite 28e

Color: yellow

About the bra:

This is a bra I got as a swap via braswap. I put the 28dd up for sale, but stated I really preferred an exchange for the same bra in a 28e. I didn’t think someone would have the 28e and need a 28dd, but I got lucky. This bra wasn’t new, but looks like it is.

Every time I’ve seen this bra on a website, I’ve always looked at it as being a yellow bra with black clusters on it.

But in actuality, there are colors other than black

There are a few shades of pink, a blue, and a pale greenish blue color

There’s a black bow at the top of the gore.

There is also a black bow where the cup meets the straps.

The beautiful top portion

The straps

There is some sort of stitching detail throughout the bra.

I just want to mention, that while this bra is a bright yellow, my pictures make it look brighter than it actually is. The picture of the bow by the straps, is the most accurate in color, since I didn’t have the flash on. The fabric has four way stretch, but it’s not overly stretchy

The review:

I am so happy I was able to swap my too small 28DD, for the 28E. This bra fits perfectly. If my breasts grow, it will be too small. But that’s probably not going to be an issue because my breasts don’t change shape/size.

Side view

There’s not any space (woohoo!)

About the bra:

This bra is completely sheer. It is also very sexy. I can’t even describe it, I have to just show pictures.

There’s a rather long bow at the gore.

The cute design at the top of the cup

a close up

The cup is completely sheer, there’s no double layer on the bottom part of the cups.

There is a pink small bow where the cups meet the straps

The design on the straps

I really love that the pink on this bra is a very light pink.

The review:

This bra… It fits but it doesn’t. I’m not really sure, lol. When initially swooped and scooped, there was still a little bit of room on my smaller breast, where the upper sheer part was, but not on the entire part. But when I scooped in my ‘underarm fat’, it made the bra fit, but kind of cut the tissue in the middle of my chest.

A few things about this bra. The band is tight! I’ve read that freya bands are loose-looser than Cleo’s, but this band is almost uncomfortable. And the gore is slightly irritating me. I think it’s because the band is too tight, and the gore is higher than what I’d like. Also, when I do the second S&S, it makes the sides of the cup higher than normal, so it’s slightly irritating.

When I first got on bratabase and asked for a fit check Arabella was one of the freya bras recommended for me, as well as Siren and Oh la la. I found this on eBay for a low price. So I’m glad I was able to get it.

Altered Claudette Dessous 30E

The original post about the pink Claudette Dessous can be found here.

I felt the band was too stretchy to fit properly. I’m not particularly busty, and my breasts are self supporting, but I wanted the band to be tighter. I did want the cups to be a hair smaller, so I tried to shrink it via the hot water method. The heat did seam to mess up the fibers on the lower half of the cup. Oddly enough it seems like it’s on the upper portion of the lower half (if that makes sense), not the lining part. The hot water didn’t shrink the cups/bra.

First part. I used a non matching thread so you could see. The one website where I saw this used beige thread on a beige bra, so I couldn’t see where exactly they sewed. Initial stitching. Band was still stretchy.

So I went over it in the opposite direction.

This is how it looked line on:

You can see the space at the top of the cup on my smaller breast

Side view

Band is is still very stretchy. 😣

And the gore still doesn’t tack.

As a side note, I went to my room to get something, and you could see my nip through my shirt. I wasn’t even cold.

This was still to stretchy, so I decided to take in the upper part of the band as well.

The gore still didn’t tack. 😕

Initial S&S

Second S&S. Looks better, but I had nipple showing in the ultra sheer area.

I stitched the bottom of the wing

How it looks on:

Although I didn’t adjust the straps, it doesn’t look like the band is riding up anymore.

From the side

The gore still doesn’t tack at the bottom, but the bra feels a lot better. It’s not overtly tight like some of my other bras, but I can feel the difference from before. The cups also fit better. The smaller breast still has some space at the top, but there isn’t much wrinkling. I don’t want to redo what I did, but it looks crazy with the red & blue stitching. If I do end up redoing it, I’ll probably dust off my sewing machine and use that.

Claudette dessous 30E (pink)

Color: pink

About the bra:

Like all of the dessous Bras from Love. Claudette, this bra is made of sheer mesh. This particular bra, is a very stretchy mesh. Too stretchy actually.

The bra is a brighter pink than what I was expecting.

The top of the cup is one layer of fabric, while the bottom is lined.

There is a black ribbon bow at the center gore.

As well as where the straps meet the cup

Around the bra, there is black frilly detailing.

The review:

The band on this bra is so stretchy. Its not big per se, but it’s just very stretchy. Stretchy enough, that if I had bigger breasts that needed support, I don’t think I would get it unless I sized down. I would have sized down in the band, if Claudette had a 28 available in this particular bra, but they didn’t. As I predicted, the cups are tall- tallest gain what I’d like. I do however, think that I have a tall root. That is, I believe my breast tissue starts at a higher point than on some people. There is some room in the cups, but not enough to size down comfortably, in my opinion.

As you can see, there’s some wrinkling in the cup on my smaller breast.

Smaller breast

Larger breast

The gore tacks at the top,

But not at the bottom. I’m not entirely sure why that is, but I suspect it’s because the band is so stretchy.

The side view is okay. Slightly pointy, but not too much.

As with basically all the Claudette bras, except cool cotton, my nipples are above the apex of the bra. This bra is cute, but I don’t love it. It is going to be a bra, that if I keep, I’ll definitely have to alter the band someway. I think if I alter the band, the cups won’t have so much wrinkling in them. I do however wish the cups weren’t so tall. I’ve been wondering, if I got a different size, would I be able to have smaller cups. The size I was thinking, was either a 32C, or a 32D. I think to get a cup as low as it is on the models, I’d need a bra that I’d have to adjust the straps as long as they could go or close to it.

I kind of wish I’d bought one of these 30E Dessous bras in a 30DD, so that I could compare it to the Dessous Sucre, and also, so I could see if the cup size dictates the stretch ones of the band.

Curvy Kate “alterations”

I really tried to make this bra fit. I really did. But nothing worked. 😩😩

This post is mostly going to be pictures, and it’s going to be long. You can see the original thread here.

Attempt #1. I just randomly folded fabric over, and pinned it into place. Looked “okay” from the front, but there was still a lot of space at the top.

Attempt #2

Attempt #3. I tried to take out the top portion, by folding it under, hoping that it would take out some of the top openness… But it was still too open at the top.

Attempt #4. I took out considerably less than in attempt 1 & 2. It was way too open at the top.

Attempt #5. I took in the bottom, but it started from the middle, instead of by the gore. Doing so, oddly made the bra very shallow at the bottom. This wasn’t the smartest idea, because it also left a lot of space between the top of the gore, and the top of the cup closest to the gore, and also at the back of the cup.

Attempt #6. This was just a mess. I gathered some fabric, and pinned it in place.

This probably could have turned out better if the fabric of the bra wasn’t as thick as it was. And f the cup wasn’t so big.

I really don’t think there’s a way that I can successfully alter the cups without getting scissors involved and breaking out the sewing machine. I’m not going to do that. 😔

Starbucks White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Frapp

I had one last free drink at Starbucks, so I decided to get the WCMN (I’m abbreviating because I’m lazy). This was the drink I’d debated getting when I first tried CTC frapp. Both drinks are similar, white mocha with a ‘nut’ syrup. Since this was my last free drink, I got the Venti. If I have a free drink I get the biggest size, since I’m not paying for it.

The ingredients for the WCMN frapp are:

  • White mocha frapp
  • toffee nut syrup
  • java chips
  • caramel drizzle

Looking at the ingredients, I just realized I didn’t ask for the java chips. I think that would have been an interesting addition. Oh well. I also didn’t ask for the caramel drizzle, because whenever I have WCMN cookies, I don’t taste caramel, so it didn’t strike me as something to add to it. I should have, because when I got the drink, it wasn’t that sweet. It was good though, good enough that I actually drank the whole thing. If I get the drink again, I’ll definitely get the caramel drizzle, and maybe the java chips.

Here is the link to the WCMN frapp

Victoria’s Secret Pink bra + swooping & scooping

I decided to make this post on a whim, so it’s going to be relatively short, and have only a few pictures.

Swooping and scooping is in general, something that I don’t particular up feel I need to do. Yes, I do want all of my breast tissue to be inside of my bra, however, I don’t believe that I have migrated breast tissue. I’m practically skin & bones, so there’s now her that the tissue has migrated to. But I swoop and scoop anyway.

Bra: Pink by Victoria’s Secret, wear everywhere Demi bra. Size 32C.

When I putt his bra on (just now), my initial thought was, ‘wow! The band is huge.’ VS bra bands are very stretchy. I used to love these bras (I literally own like 20 of them). They were my ‘go to’ bras. But since I’ve found the correct size, or close to it, I haven’t worn these bras since.

Anyway, these are pics of the bra BEFORE swooping and scooping.

The gore doesn’t tack.

Look at how much room is in the band!

Pictures AFTER swooping & scooping.

Close up

Yes, the gore is sitting on my breast tissue.

The gore still doesn’t tack

But it’s closer than before, but look at that quadding!

The band is still big, but not as big as before.

I was initially going to keep all of my VS bras, and just alter the band so they would fit, and I could still have them, but I think it’s time to let them go. Even if I take in the band, the cup is too small. If these bras were 32D, it may have been okay to alter the bands. I’ll probably list all the wear everywhere bras together, instead of selling them separately.

As you can see from the before and after pics, you can see the difference swooping and scooping makes. It’ll show you really. Whether or not a bra you’re wearing fits. I try on some bras and initially I think they’re a little too big, but then when I S&S, they fit.

Freya Ignite 28dd

Color: yellow

About the bra: This is one of the bras I got from a member of A bra that fits, she purchased them for me from Debenhams. Every time I’ve seen this bra on a website, I’ve always looked at it as being a yellow bra with black clusters on it.

But in actuality, there are colors other than black.

The fabric has four way stretch, but it’s not overly stretchy.

The review:

When I first saw this bra in person, I thought, ‘oh my goodness, this is so cute, I’m glad I ordered it’. And then I tried it on and realized the cups were too small, 😥 I think I have a fear of buying E cups, since my breasts aren’t particularly big. And given the fact that some of my 30DDs are too big, I always think that E cups will be too big. But with this bra, I definitely should have gotten a 28E. I did have both sizes in my cart initially, but I decided to go with the DD. It’s not grossly too small but I do quad in it. I am in the process of trading with an ‘a bra that fits’ member for the 28E.

Larger breast

Smaller breast

An aerial view of the quadding. It even quads on my smaller breasts. So I know it’s too small.

Its so pointy from the side. Hopefully the 28E is less pointy.

View of the back. This is one of the few bras where I have a picture of the back. It’s so hard to take that pic by myself. I just wanted to show that I think the straps are adjusted too long, because the band looks so low on my back.

I can’t wait to get the 28E. I want to see hoe the fit of that differed from this. With this particular bra, I think the strap is very tight. I don’t know if it’s because the cups are too small or not. But if I were to keep this bra, I would definitely need to wear an extender with it.

Claudette Dessous 30E (leopard)

Color: leopard

About the bra: This is a very cute bra. I originally wanted the leopard with the pink, but that wasn’t available in any of the sizes I would want to try. The whole bra is made from a (very) stretchy mesh fabric.

There is a black bow made of ribbon on the gore

There is also a cute little bow where the straps meet the cup.

A majority of the bra is leopard print mesh.

w/o the flash so you can see the true color.

Even on the band/wings!

The lower portion of the cup is double lined, the inner lining is a beige color.

There is a cute little frilly design going around the bra.

The review:

I’m not particularly in love with this bra. It’s cute, but it doesn’t fit me correctly. The biggest issue is that the band is too big. On my bigger breast, I can tighten the strap so that the metal piece is almost touching my clavicle/top of my shoulder. Doing so makes the bra look very nice, but it’s hurting my shoulder. I                   do, however plan on tightening the band, although I’m not sure which method I am going to use.

I went with the 30E for this bra, because when I read other reviews, a lot of women said it ran a cup size small. I do agree with that. I think if I had went with a 30DD, it would have been too small. The band may have been tighter, but I’d have some quadding on my bigger breast. I would have preferred this bra in. A 28 band, but love Claudette didn’t have this bra in 28 bands. If it came in a 28 band, I’d have had to debate about getting the 28E or the 28F, and I probably would have went with a 28E, because I don’t think an F cup would fit me.

As it is, the bra is ‘cute’. It doesn’t fit the way it looks in pictures/ the way I wanted it to look, but I knew that was going to happen. The cups come up a lot higher than I want them to. It essentially looks like the full coverage bra it’s described as.

Bigger breast

Smaller breast

Side view: As you can’t ell from these pics, the apex of the bra is not in the same place as the apex of my breast.

Bigger breast

Smaller breast

Because the band is big, the bottom of the gore doesn’t tack correctly, and there’s some space.

But it tacks at the top.

When I lean over, there’s a good amount of wrinkling.

The sides of the cup, that connects the band to the straps, is a little on the high side.

As I’ve said, this bra is cute. It’s not the best, and it’s going to require some alterations to get it close to being perfect. I almost want to attempt to turn it into a balconette. But I feel for something like that, I’d have to break out my sewing machine, and I’m still in summer mode. Plus I have to see how the cups fit once I tighten the band. I’m thinking the cups would fit a lot better, with less space (there’s not a lot when I’m standing regular), but I also think it’ll made the sides of the bra cut in more, since it’ll be farther to the back.

it is worth mentioning that the cups on this bra are all mesh, stretch mesh. On my skin it’s rather irritating, but this is just from trying it on, not actually wearing it around. I think it’ll get less irritating as you wear the bra, as well as when you wash it.
